What I find so brilliant about Undertale’s writing is that creator Toby Fox understands that characters need more than one facet of information for us to care about them. Most monsters you encounter have some sort of connection to their world. Alphys is no exception and while her obsession with anime is often used as a joke, it contributes to the positive view of anime in popular culture. The apparent preference is Deltarune, the next sport employing Undertale’s writer, Toby Fox. Currently available are Chapters 1 & 2 and conveniently free-to-play. It’s not Undertale’s sequel. However, it has a completely comparable vibe. And even though the plot is in an awesome international, there are significant connections between the two games.
